You, standing in the same room, have recently invented the spoon, but no one can hear you offer them your newest invention because you’re in the corner, quietly mumbling to yourself. Your presence is not known, because you have not made it known!

If you don’t walk up to people and show them your spoons where they’re looking, how are they ever going to take advantage of your incredible product? Surprise! Your company is the spoon inventor, and that weak attempt at selling them is your digital brand management. Incredible metaphor, I know.

With millions of users online, looking at millions and millions of pages of original contact, how are they ever supposed to find you? If you take the necessary steps to boost your digital brand management, they’ll have no problem picking you out from the crowd. What steps do I need to take? You ask me. Boost my website SEO? Enhance my Facebook and Twitter profiles? Focus on emails? Newsletters? Video? My answer would be: yes. But it’s how you handle your digital brand management that really matters.

Consistency. Digital brand management depends on it. Be consistent with your message. Be consistent with your colors, your logos, and most importantly, consistent with how you interact with your customers online; they define who you are and what you do (that’s digital brand management in a nutshell!). Be consistent with your promises. Be aware of yourself and what questions customers may have, and include that in your various blog posts, Facebook updates, website photos, and more. Make your digital brand management at the core of how you see yourself, and how you want customers to see you.
