Primal Voices: An Evening of Visual Art, Poetry and World Music

Join us April 22, 2019 for the debut of Virginia Romero’s interactive art performance Primal Voices: An Evening of Visual Art, Poetry and World Music. Las Cruces artist Virginia Romero is an accomplished painter and digital artist whose works have been featured in publications such as New Mexico Magazine, and displayed in dozens of museums and private collections in the United States and abroad, including the New Mexico State University Branson Library Special Collections.

The event will feature several large scale paintings by Romero, including an animated interpretation of her painted works in collaboration with local studio, Blue Fenec, and a slideshow accompanied by live, ambient music inspired by the paintings, provided by Will Clipman.

Will Clipman, of Tucson, Arizona, is an internationally-acclaimed mask maker, poet, storyteller, arts educator, percussionist and seven time GRAMMY Nominee. After his musical journey began at the age of three with his father’s drums, Clipman has since mastered a pan-global palette of over one hundred percussion instruments in addition to the traditional drum set.

The event will be hosted in the historic building that houses marketing and communications firm Sinuate Media, located at 1910 Calle de Parian, Mesilla, NM. Doors will open at 6:30 PM and the event will run from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

This one-night only event is open to all in the community. A suggested $10 donation is encouraged at the door, with anything more being greatly appreciated. The artists will have products for sale including CDs, art prints, notecards, and tote bags. For more information or to RSVP, visit https://www.facebook.com/events/847134518964522/.
